What Are Washable Puppy Pads?

Washable puppy training pads are also exactly what their name suggests: pee pads for puppies that can be washed and used again. This way, you will no longer have to spend more money on disposable pads – making them a much better choice for dog owners on a budget. Washable puppy pads also absorb more liquid, making them the better choice if you have a larger puppy with a bigger bladder.
They also represent the more environmentally-friendly solution, as you won’t have to add waste into the landfill anymore. You can also pick from multiple designs – something that you cannot do with a disposable puppy training pad.  This way, you will be able to hide your dog’s messes even more, as it will look like a nice small carpet on a floor rather than a napkin that screams “I’m a pee pad!”
Plus, since these washable puppy pads are made from a more resistant fabric, dogs will not be tempted to chew or shred them. Even if they do try to mess up the puppy pad, they won’t be too successful. The most they would do is crumple it a bit or move it from its place – but the chances are that they will not be able to destroy it entirely. Of course, this also depends on your dog’s chewing habits. If you have a “chewer”, then the pad may not be that durable anymore.
Still, in general, these pads are meant to last, which is why they are the most convenient option if you don’t want to replace them after a few uses.

How Much Do Washable Puppy Pads Cost?
A reusable puppy training pad costs about as much as a pack of 100 disposable puppy training pads – again, depending on the brand that you go for. At this point, you might think “but is it worth it?” Well, when you consider their overall durability, you might say it is worth it.
First, think about how long you are planning on using them. If you are going for the long-term use, then they’re a good investment. If you’re only going to use them for a few weeks, then you might find them too expensive.
Depending on the brand, you may pay about £15-£20 (more or less) for one pad, or around £25 for a set of two. Again, the fancier the brand, the more expensive the pad might be.

How Long Do Reusable Puppy Pads Last?
The durability of the pad will pretty much depend on the brand itself and the way in which the item was made. The standard puppy training pad can be used at least 300 times – give or take. This makes it the more cost-effective option, as disposable packs around the same price only have 100 pads.
That being said, there are also puppy training pads whose manufacturers boast over 1,000 washes. Granted, those products will be a bit more expensive, and you have to respect certain washing conditions – but if you do, the result should certainly be worth it. Ideally, you should get at least two of them so that you may swap them between washes.
